Wallpaper
Wall, wall, wall…
Walls surround us, walls enclose us.
The city is a wall, work is a wall, home is a wall…
But I want green, I’m searching for green.
There is no green.
Not for me, not for you, not for anyone…
Yes, there are patches of green somewhere.
Scattered in tiny, hidden places.
And when we finally reach this green, the meaning of it will be gone.
I took those walls and made wallpaper for us, and I wove those greens into the design.
First comes the wallpaper, then the patterns emerge(The wallpaper is made of the walls that form the city of Istanbul, and the patches of green come from the greenery of the Zincirlikuyu cemetery.)
