9,11 Memorial, New York

I had traveled to America for an international congress. I was in Colorado. When I arrived at the congress building in the morning and saw the horrifying scene on the big screens, I was completely frozen. It was an incredibly tragic and painful event. In the attacks that destroyed the Twin Towers, 2,977 innocent people lost their lives.

Sixteen years later, I visited the site where the Twin Towers once stood and encountered two reflecting pools. In the center of each pool, there was a hole where water flowed from the edges into the center, symbolizing infinity. Around the edges of the pools, the names of those who lost their lives were inscribed. These memorials carry the memory of that day and those individuals into eternity.

There was a profound silence there—an overwhelming sense of loss for the innocent lives and the weight of infinity. It was a feeling that everyone present could sense…
